These are a few of my favorite things...[Favorite Skin Care Products]

It's about time that I devote a post to all of my favorite skin care products. Considering the fact that I do sell Mary Kay, I definitely think it's time! So for all you skin care loving ladies stay tuned!

I will admit that it is hard for me to narrow things down because I try new products all the time and use many products daily! I have managed to put most of my favorite skin care products into this post!

I will start with my weekly favorites..

Timewise Microdermabrasion Set:
This is a two step process that immediately fights fine lines and wrinkles and refines pores. This product makes your skin feel so incredibly smooth and is sure to make a difference in those fine lines! It is recommended to use this every 2-3 days so I use it a few times a week.

Satin Hands and Satin Lips:
...need I saw more?! This product is amazing! The satin hands pampering set is a three step process that leaves your hands feeling like satin!!

Satin Lips is a two step process leaving your lips feeling silky smooth!Cannot live without this in the cold/winter months especially!

Indulge Soothing Eye Gel:
This also is exactly what the name says...soothing! It has a cooling affect that feels awesome!

Now we are on to the fave daily items...

Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser:
This product cleans, exfoliates and refreshes your skin while fighting signs of aging!

Timewise Age-Fighting Moisturizer:
Did you know that one of the main causes of wrinkles is lack of moisture?! You better believe I am using this moisturizer twice a day!

Timewise Night Solution and Timewise Day Solution:
The night solution helps fade away deep lines and wrinkles. This is one of my favorite things to use for sure; I love how it makes my skin feel!
The day solution includes SPF in it to protect skin from the sun throughout the day.

Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover:
This is the absolute best eye make up remover I have ever used! It is Amazing! I am convinced that it conditions your eyelashes helping them stay strong!! It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy either, which I love!

Intense Moisturizing Cream:
I am loving this product right now with the weather change! It is great for those target spots that seem to get dry more quickly than the rest of your face.

So these are some of my absolutely must have products! Hope you enjoy!

Election...

I have withheld these past few weeks from voicing political beliefs or from stating my opinion on any social media sites. I know that everyone has a right to voice their opinion but, I think that people should stay informed and learn through their own knowledge rather than reading peoples' personal opinions on Facebook.

Last night was hard to swallow, to say the very least. I have been so tired of seeing peoples' political standpoints for the past couple weeks that I thought I would be happy it was over. Wrong! Reading WHY people voted for our president last night made me truly feel sick to my stomach.

Although I have not lived in a country that currently practices the kind of health care we are headed towards, my husband has. It truly breaks my heart to think that in a few short years we could have children living under this as well. I could not imagine my child breaking their arm and having to wait weeks for care. For all the health care professionals that worked so hard to get their degrees and to be informed to take care of us...why should they have to take a pay cut?? There are so many viewpoints that I disagree with, this one is just standing out a lot right now!

I just have to remember that ultimately my God is in control! That is truly so comforting to say out loud!
This verse is more comforting than ever right now...

"Know that the Lord works wonders for the faithful; the Lord hears when I call out." Psalms 4:4

We just have to remember that the Lord will take care of us! This election will not change my faith! I am still going to work hard for everything I have and I know that my family and I will be successful!

Wedding Festivities

The past three weekends have been filled with wedding festivities. These things seem to always come in waves! We will start with the first of the three weekends...

We celebrated the engagement of my best friend, Andi!! This was so special to me because we have been best friends for over 15 years now! We have shared so many special times together and I cannot wait to celebrate on her wedding day! Here is the whole crew...

And here we are..we have come along way since bangs and braces..

The next weekend we headed down to New Orleans to celebrate for Andi's bachelorette weekend! We had such an amazing time, mostly because we had these awesome hats..

Seriously check out these hats.. Andi's sister in law made one for each of us! She seriously has a talent for this! They were a huge hit to say the least! Andi's even lit up! It was so much fun!

And finally, this past weekend we celebrated the marriage of one of Tyler's closest friends, Derek! He and Derek have been friends longer than Tyler and I have been together(which is over 7 years now).

I believe they met back in high school! I am so glad Derek found his perfect bride and that we were able to celebrate with him!

Their wedding was such a dream! The location, weather, decor, everything was beautiful! Not to mention the bride was also stunning!

Here's to a lifetime of happiness and many, many blessings to come for Mr. and Mrs. Hasley!

Bedroom Remix

I have been thinking about redecorating our master bedroom for a while now. I was looking on my pinterest boards two or three weeks ago and realized I had pinned the same master bedroom three times...three times..the exact same thing! (here is the pin) That is when I realized I really need to start working on the master. I started putting together an idea board(I got this idea from my awesome friend Ashley) that included some of the things I had pinned and things that I would like to incorporate in the room. This is what I came up with:

(Sources-Pottery Barn, Etsy, West Elm, and this blog for the curtains )

So far I have the Duvet Cover (West Elm) and a Quilt (Steinmart). Still debating about pillows, curtains and lamps!
{Side note: if you need a quilt RUN to Steinmart! Their prices are ridiculously awesome.}

Also to make an appearance in this room are these awesome mirrors I found at Homegoods:

Carter is here! (about a month ago!)

On August 27th (early in the morning) I got a call from my sister. She thought she could be having early signs of labor. She called the doctor and although she already had an appointment scheduled that day, the nurse told her to come in early and they would check everything out! Sure enough, she was right! They sent her straight over to the hospital. What did that mean for me??  I was running around like crazy trying to get everything ready to leave ASAP!! (this is one of those times where I really hate living so far away from my family)..

Tyler and I left as soon as we could. The 4.5 hour drive felt like a year and I felt like I could have a panic attack at any moment! My sister was in labor...Ahhhh! We arrived at the hospital around 3:30pm. I was beyond excited that I would be able to see my sister before she had the baby! She was progressing pretty well and we knew it wouldn't be long until we could meet that precious baby! About an hour later the nurses sent us out...it was time!!

At 4:56pm baby Carter was born, 6lbs 7oz! He was absolutely perfect!

I love this baby so much already!

Who couldn't love this little face?

Fitness and Food

At the beginning of last week I decided that we really needed to focus on staying healthier by working out more and eating better. We have already been eating somewhat healthy (emphasis on somewhat) and working out daily, but we could be doing a lot better! It is kind of one of those situations where you could be doing worse or you could be doing better. So we are trying to do better!!

Needless to say I have been obsessed with trying new healthy recipes and working out!!

Working out...

We started the Spartacus workout a few weeks ago. This will be our fourth week doing the workouts. It has been going great so far; besides the fact that it is absolutely killer!! It involves doing 10 different exercises for a minute each with 15 seconds of rest time in between each exercise. Then you repeat this two more times (3 total). There is a men's version and a women's version. I have been participating in the men's version so Tyler and I can do our workouts together. With the exception of one week when he was out of town. You do the workout 3X/week so on the other days we have been running, usually in between 2-4 miles right now! (today we did 4.12 yay!) We are working on getting that up a little!

Food... (my favorite)

I have started reading this blog that I admit I have a slight obsession with. She has some really great recipes and food ideas. I have been most obsessed with her smoothie tutorial. This has allowed me to make my own smoothies with the things I like AND I actually stay full until lunch time woo hoo! Anyways it is a great way to make a healthy, nutritious breakfast!

I was a little hesitant about using spinach even
though I had heard about it so much with smoothies.
Here are some other healthy things I put together this and last week...

Turkey wrap with lots of veggies!

Kale "chips"

This is my favorite for 3 reasons:
1. It was delicious
2. It somewhat showcases the new table stain :)
3. Macy wants a bite soo bad!!
Question of the day... When you are working on your fitness, do you focus on the scale or how you look and feel?

Weekend Project!

First off, I hope everyone has had a great Monday! Mine is going great so far!

We had a great weekend! I tackled another project for the house that I am pretty excited about!!

I found this table at a thrift store nearby and have been wanting to refinish it for a while now! Finally got around to it this past weekend and I am so happy with how it turned out!

My great find!

As you can see, it had a few dings and scratches I had to sand out before staining.

The finished product! Yay!
All in all it was a pretty easy project! I am even thinking about doing our dining room table now!

Is anyone else working on a DIY project right now?

DIY Diaper Cake

This past weekend I went to see my sister for her last baby shower! I was beyond excited because well I am ALWAYS excited to see my sis and because I was helping plan the shower with her sister-in-laws! Although I was planning long distance, it was so much fun! (Especially since it was for my sister and Carter)

I wanted to share a DIY project I did for the shower! I decided to make a diaper cake. I had done this once before but I wanted it to be a little bit different. Since she is having a boy she does not like anything with bows or anything that is remotely "girly." So I thought that I needed to make a clean, simple, classic cake with no bows!

First I got all of my supplies together:
Diapers
Bottle of Baby Lotion
Bottle
Ribbon
Rubberbands

*I do not like to use glue on the diapers so I rubber-band them together so no diaper is wasted!*

After that I started rolling up each individual diaper, keeping it together with a small rubber-band. (I used about 68 diapers total) After you roll up all the diapers, then you start to put everything together. You start with the bottle of baby lotion and add diapers around like so:

On the bottom layer you will do two rows around like you see in the picture and then one more around to make 3 full rows. Then you will continue with the middle layer. This layer will have two rows around the lotion bottle. Next you will set the baby bottle on top and wrap a row of diapers around the bottle to make your third/top layer of the cake. Here are some pictures of adding layers and playing around with some ribbon options:

After you get that top layer on then you can add the ribbon and make sure everything looks perfect! I ended up using three different kinds of ribbon: a 1.5 inch green, 1.5 inch navy w/ pattern and a 7/8 inch light blue. Here is the the finished product:

And here we are...

Two Years!

This passed Tuesday was our two year Anniversary! Wow, doesn't feel like it has been two years already. Feels like the older you get the faster time goes by! Do ya'll feel like that too? Anyways, celebrated by having dinner at the Melting Pot. Neither one of us had ever been there so we were really excited about the experience! It turned out great! We loved the whole experience and the food was great!
Here are some pics from our yummy dinner!!

I definitely recommend the Melting Pot to anyone that has never been...great expereince, great food!

More Kitchen

It really feels like it has been forever since I posted. Of course, we have been as busy as ever! Summers are always crazy around here, is it like that for everyone else too? Since the last post we have visited family in both Huntsville and Daphne, Alabama (it is always great to see family!!), celebrated birthdays, registered for my sisters baby shower, drove ALOT, and one of my closest friends had her adorable baby this past Monday! I can't wait to make it back to Huntsville to meet baby Nolan!  Now here we are in the middle of June getting ready to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary...time flies!

Last post I showed everyone some pictures of what we were working on in the kitchen; I wanted to post some pictures of the finished product now!

First up, here are some pictures of the stove area:

These blue accessories are the new accessories I found at Home Goods to bring in a little color! The green were a housewarming gift from a great friend :)

This is the sink area, opposite side from stove.

We are so happy with how everything turned out! Hope you enjoy :)

Kitchen Update!

It has been a while since I updated everyone on what has been going on! We will start with the kitchen update...We have finally (almost) finished it; we are now adding those finishing touches!! The floor was probably the hardest thing that we have had to do yet. And I am not talking about laying the tile...I am talking about pulling up 4 layers of linoleum that have been there since the 60's and 70's probably!! Needless to say they were all STUCK!!

Here are some pictures of us working late on getting the flooring up!

This went on for two nights! We finally finished and laid the backer board!

And of course Macy was helping :)

Lastly here is a preview of the tile; still working on those finishing touches so I will post a pic of the whole thing later on with the backsplash and some before and afters!!  Hope yall enjoy!
